The As We Forgive Team is thrilled to announce the US launch of the As We Forgive Rwanda Initiative (AWFRI).  With a seed grant from the Templeton Foundation in 2009, we established this Rwandan-led organization that utilizes the AWF documentary and a discussion and training program to equip Rwandan students, local officials, pastors and teachers to publicly discuss the challenging topic of true reconciliation after genocide.  The organization’s goal is to use the power of film to foster authentic repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation through open and honest dialogue in schools and churches nationwide.  After a testing period (2009-2010) in which we reached more than 40,000 Rwandans with our film and discussion program, we are now ready to launch this organization in the US in order to broaden its reach in Rwanda and beyond.
